SPOUSLR Understand each other. Honour your faith. A THOUGHTFUL CONVERSATION GUIDE Find a setting that feels comfortable and appropriate for both of you. Take turns. Listen to understand, then share what you heard. You can pause, return to a question later, or decide not to answer. There is no score, and you do not need to agree on everything. 01: AFFECTION You have had a long day. Your spouse notices you are quieter than usual. What would help you feel cared for in that moment? Go a little deeper: Would you want someone to listen, offer practical help, give you space, or something else? How could you let your spouse know? 02: DISAGREEMENT You disagree about an important decision. One of you wants to talk now; the other needs time to think. How could you make room for both of your needs? Go a little deeper: What helps you feel heard during a disagreement? If you take a pause, how would you agree when to return to the conversation? 03: FAMILY Both families hope you will spend a special occasion with them. You cannot be in two places at once. How would you decide together, with care for everyone? Go a little deeper: What expectations would each family bring? How could you explain a shared decision while respecting your families and each other? 04: FAITH You are imagining the routines of a home together, including how you would support each other in practising your faith. What would practising your faith together look like to you? Go a little deeper: Which daily practices matter most to you? What kind of encouragement would feel supportive, and where would you want space to grow? AFTER THE CONVERSATION What did you understand about each other that you did not know before? What felt right? What needs further discussion? What would you like to reflect on in your own time? These are illustrative conversation starters, not a professional assessment or religious guidance. SPOUSLR's full guided process is a vision in development. Family involvement should preserve each person's voice and choice. A lifelong commitment deserves a thoughtful beginning.
